National Minimum Wage increases

2nd April 2019

The annual changes to National Minimum Wages are due to come into force today, 1st April 2019.

Please see below the following increases:

The national living wage for workers aged over 25 increases from £7.83 to £8.21 per hour.

The new minimum wages for younger workers from 1st April 2019 will be:

  • Workers aged 21 to 24 – increased from £7.38 to £7.70 per hour
  • Workers aged 18 to 20 – increased from £5.90 to £6.15 per hour
  • Workers aged 16 to 18 – increased from £4.20 to £4.35 per hour
  • Apprentice rate – increased from £3.70 to £3.90 per hour
