As of 6th April 2017, we have our usual annual compensation increase.
As you are well aware, the current maximum’s week’s pay is capped at £479 but will be increased to £489. In respect of dismissal claims, the maximum compensatory award is currently £78,962 but will be increased to £80,541.
Please note however, it will be the £80,541 or a year’s net salary whichever is the lesser. It is very rare that Tribunals award the maximum as the employee is under a duty to mitigate their losses.
