Patrick specialises in lifetime tax planning and charity law.
Patrick has considerable experience in advising a wide variety of clients on inheritance tax planning, wills and related issues. He is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and also holds STEP’s Advanced Certificate in UK Tax for International Clients.
Patrick is a member of the Charity Law Association. He advises on the creation of charities, as well as providing ongoing advice to charity trustees on their duties and responsibilities.
Patrick has expertise in probate and dealing with complicated estates, including those estates with assets situated overseas, claims for business and agricultural property relief and post death tax-planning.
He provides advice to both trustees and beneficiaries on their rights and responsibilities, as well as tax issues, and can prepare a range of documents to facilitate the efficient administration of trusts. Patrick works with other professionals such as accountants and financial advisors to provide an all-round service.
Patrick has experience in dealing with a variety of applications to the Court of Protection, including deputyships, and advises on the use and preparation of lasting powers of attorney.
Patrick acts as a professional trustee and attorney. He qualified as a solicitor in 2001 and joined Colman Coyle in April 2018 from a leading regional firm.
