Compromise Achieved in forfeiture/damages claim in Chancery Registry

The Litigation and Dispute Resolution Team successfully concluded a compromise on behalf of a commercial landlord client, on the eve of the client's Application for Summary Judgment.  The matter involved complicated issues in respect of forfeiture, the creation of a new tenancy and the security of tenure provisions of the 1954 Act which had significant implications for both parties.  The Litigation Team obtained a listing for a Summary Judgment Application Hearing on an expedited basis so that the matter could be determined shortly before an impending commercial deadline. They were then able to successfully conclude a compromise on behalf of the clients which was subsequently approved by the Chancery Registry.
